Smart home security

Security is rarely a matter of a single device. A camera records on its own; a door sensor alerts on its own. A system that puts together something is worth something: it knows if you're home and only alerts when something has actually happened.

That's why Yabune Home doesn't just sell an alarm, it connects what you have: a camera, motion and door sensors, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, water detectors, and the rest of the house. Where a new alarm is needed, we also install it: the DSC Hungary We are an official partner of DSC, we connect DSC alarm systems to the smart home locally.

What does it protect against?

• Burglary. Door and window sensors, motion sensors inside, cameras outside. Live notifications, no post-recording.
• Fire and carbon monoxide. The smart smoke detector not only beeps, but also alerts you to your phone — even when you're not home.
• Water damage. Water sensor placed under washing machine, dishwasher, boiler room; in more serious installations, the main shut-off valve closes automatically.
• Forgetfulness. A burnt iron, a garage door left open, a stove left on — these can also be a warning.

Camera — but smartly

With a camera system, the question is not how many megapixels. It's where it goes, where the footage is stored, and who has access to it. We prefer locally stored solutions: the footage doesn't leave the house, there are no monthly fees, and it doesn't depend on how long a manufacturer's cloud is up and running. Typically for outdoor use Reolink We install a PoE camera — the power and the image go through one cable, the recording is sent to the recorder in the house. When you're not at home

When you're on vacation, the system is armed: the shutters and lights simulate presence, the motion sensors become more sensitive, and any unusual events send a notification. When you get home, normal operation is restored with a single gesture — or automatically, based on your phone.

What you should know before you get started

• Network. Cameras are the biggest bandwidth consumers. For outdoor cameras, a wired (PoE) setup is the stable solution, not Wi-Fi.
• Storage. How many days of footage do you want to keep? This determines the storage size, not the number of cameras.
• Data protection. A camera facing a public space is also a legal issue. We will clarify this in the survey before anything is put on the wall.
• Power outage. Even the best system is blind without an uninterruptible power supply — it's worth planning for.

Alarm or smart home — or both?

It's a common question, and it's a valid one. A traditional alarm system connected to a remote monitoring system does one thing well: when it sounds, someone goes out. This is something that a smart home system alone cannot replace.

But what the smart home knows that the alarm doesn't: it connects security with the rest of the house. When the alarm is armed, all the lights turn off, the shutters go down, and the heating drops. The opposite is true when you arrive. The same door sensor that signals a break-in also knows that the window was left open and the heating was on.

In practice, the two can coexist: the alarm system remains in its own right, and when connected to the system, it also serves the other functions. In the survey, we look at what is already out there — many houses have alarms, but no one uses them because they are cumbersome.
