Robot vacuum cleaners have been around for a long time, doing the dirty work for us, at least on the floor. The biggest problem with primitive smart vacuum cleaners was that they walked around completely illogically, randomly, and skipped certain places. The first smart walking vacuum cleaner was probably created by Xiaomi, called the Xiaomi Vacuum Cleaner Gen1. It actually vacuums, walks around designated areas logically, and not only has „start cleaning” and „return to docking station” functions, but can also be controlled using the Xiaomi smartphone app, specifying zones and cleaning at different speeds.

Why can't everything be managed on one interface?
With the Home Assistant system, we can even control smart vacuum cleaners and even automate them by specifying different conditions. For example, you can set it to clean every day at 8 am, even if you are not at home. And if you happen to arrive home during cleaning time, you don't have to avoid the machine, because it will automatically return to the docking station.
Today, there are several control solutions in the Home Assistant system (ready-made interfaces, but you can even create your own), which can be used much faster and easier than with the factory mobile application. This means that it can be controlled not only with the factory application, but also with any other device that reaches the soul of our smart home, the Home Assistant system.
Smart robot vacuum cleaner control options
You can also control the vacuum cleaner with the Xiaomi mobile app. This is not very convenient, the manufacturer only provides this one option.
We can also control it with the Home Assistant system. In this case, the unique interface is fast, accurate, simple but great.
There is another option with the Home Assistant system, namely with so-called Zone designation. This is useful if someone insists on the factory method, which can no longer be done only with a mobile application.
With the Home Assistant system, we can also control it by selecting a predefined zone (this option is not available in the mobile application for older models).

We have been using the Xiaomi Vacuum Cleaner Gen1 version for more than 3 years, which is already considered a smart robot, but it has a few problems. Unfortunately, the machine could get stuck at small level differences between rooms, which most often caused problems when selecting a zone. If we vacuumed in a place where there is a level difference at the beginning of the zone, it almost always got stuck. Yabune Home created a unique program code that can be used to fix this error and even ensure the functional operation of the unique interface (pre-setting the appropriate zones). The code can be used to determine the cleaning order of the rooms, as well as where the smart vacuum cleaner should go before cleaning certain rooms.
